However, Mary’s most cherished achievement is the successful transition of JANCOA to the second generation, with her daughter, Christy Bard, now leading as CEO. This sets the stage for an exciting future as JANCOA embarks on the next 50 years of pursuing even bigger dreams.

Mary is an accomplished leader and the Chair of the Board at JANCOA Janitorial Services, a thriving business that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022. Her husband, Tony, founded the company at the young age of 20, and together they transformed it from a small-scale operation into a renowned enterprise with an impressive 85% market share in the Cincinnati region. With over 500 dedicated team members, JANCOA has evolved from a cherished “mom & pop” shop into a prominent organization.
Throughout their journey, Mary and Tony introduced The Dream Engineer and fostered a Culture of caring within their company. These initiatives have not only achieved remarkable success but have also been emulated worldwide, inspiring countless individuals to pursue their dreams and embrace their passions.
Today, Mary is actively reimagining The Dream Engineer, devoting her time to delivering captivating keynotes, facilitating groups, and providing coaching services. Her mission is to ignite joy and inspire audiences to live purposeful lives driven by their passions.
Mary’s contributions have earned her numerous accolades and recognition. She has been honored with prestigious awards such as the YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, EY Entrepreneur of the Year – Lifetime Achievement, and the esteemed 2021 “Spirit of America” Award from The Cincinnatus Association. In 2022, she was inducted into both the University of Cincinnati Goering Center for Family Business Hall of Fame and the distinguished Junior Achievement/Cincinnati Museum Center’s Greater Cincinnati Business Hall of Fame.
